The continued broken relation between the Meru county executive and the county assembly, a lobby group, has initiated the action to collect signatures to dissolve the entire county government .
Accordingly article 192 of the constitution provides for the procedure to dissolve a county government ; (1) in an emergency arising out of internal conflict or war (2) in any other exceptional circumstances.
A group of residents who spearheaded the activities, in Nyamenti constituency, have said they are doing so, because Meru county has stagnated in development due to the split.
Among those who appended their signatures, was Kiagu ward MCA Kiambi Ngaroni, known to be allied to Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza, who said is ready to face the ballot, because despite being elected, he has not been able to deliver his duties.
The suspension sort will only be granted, if a commission of inquiry has investigated allegations against the county government to the satisfaction of the president and with the authorisation of the senate.
