The ministry of health has been urged to set aside funds to cater to the growing cases of mental health and mental illness in the country.
Democratic action party leader Eugine Wamalwa says the budgetary allocation will ensure there is enough sensitization and intervention for mental cases.
Speaking at the launch of the Ajala app, an online platform that allows users to anonymously report and discuss mental health concerns, Wamalwa emphasized the need for increased awareness and intervention.
He criticized the government for prioritizing other medical conditions, such as cancer, over mental health, and urged authorities to give mental health the attention it deserves in future budget allocations.
