Over 1,500 students from Sitikho and Matulo wards in Webuye West Constituency have benefited from an education support initiative that provided school uniforms and learning materials for primary school pupils, as well as a cheque worth Sh1.1 million for tertiary institution students. The initiative aims to improve school attendance and promote education.
The initiative, dubbed “Uniform and Bursary,” was warmly welcomed by education stakeholders, who said they will support such programs to boost education within the region. Teacher Metrine Nekesa said she will support the program.
Speaking during the event, Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Bungoma East Executive Secretary Robert Mandila lauded the initiative, saying it will boost school attendance and play a crucial role in enhancing retention and academic performance.

The foundation facilitator, Lendrix Waswa, called on area Member of Parliament Dan Wanyama to utilize the NG-CDF fund to improve the state of schools, support needy students through bursaries, and introduce a school feeding program to keep learners in school.
The foundation has pledged to continue supporting the community by providing essential services, including constructing classrooms that have been condemned at Matulo FYM Primary School if the government does not act immediately.
