It is now 38 years since the 8-4-4 curriculum was rolled out, and now the system is slowly facing out to usher in the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC). Today in the morning security officers including the Bungoma County commissioner Thomas Sangei, witnessed the start of the final exams at Bungoma DEB school.
Sergei has assured everyone that h has deployed security across the country, the county commissioner has stated that the roads are in a good condition for the exams to reach at different parts; including remote areas .
Bungoma County has a total of 58257 KPSEA Candidates and 70492KCPE Students sitting for their final exams, Segei has urged teachers to give security officers ample time during this period.
Bungoma DEP Principal Tobias Khisa says that as teachers they have played the role of preparing students to sit for the paper ,hoping that they will emerge victorious. 2023class has large population compared to the last year’s class ,Khisa says that he has seen commendable improvement from the mock examinations.
The principal has complained on how the packaging of KPSEA papers were done,where it has caused delays in starting of the exams; supervisors and invigilators are having hard time in recognizing the right paper for day one ,he is urging the exams body to look for alternative way of packaging KPSEA Exams in the coming years so as to Essen the work for invigilators and supervisors.
The principal has called upon leaders; particularly those from the county level to give education upper hand by empowering them with scholarships, Khisa says that this will enhance 100% transition in the country.
