Dairy farmers in the north rift region are staring huge losses following a reduced uptake of milk by the processors as a result of the milk gloat attributed by the ongoing rains.
Farmers are now calling on the government to provide stabilization funds to the Kenya cooperative creameries to mob up the excess milk and coition them against the loses
The ongoing rains has been a blessing to dairy farmers in the north rift region leading to an increased production of milk however the blessings will shortly turn into a night mare following the milk glad Several processors have reduced milk prices from 50 ksh to 40 ksh per liter after being overwhelm by the supply
Milk processors in the country are projecting 50 million liters more above the normal between the months of October and January compared to a similar period last year
Dairy farmers have equally been grabbed by high cost of production more than three cooperatives have been hit by the glad
