Chief of staff and head of public service Felix koskei has suspended 6 parastatal CEOs, 67 police officers and an accountant at the kenya rural roads authority(KeRRA), all the officers are currently under investigations by the ethics and anti- corruption commission for alleged involvement in corruption and procurement irregularities in their respective institutions.
The officers whose suspension were recommended by the EACC include engineer Fredrick Mwamati , the CEO of Tanathi works development agency with allegations of procurement irregularities in leather industrial park water supply project, Stanvas Ong’alo the acting director general at the national museums of Kenya,for embezzlement of ksh 490M through irregular payments Stephen Ogenga ,the director general ,national industrial training authority,over procurement irregularities in the award of tenders.
Benjamin Kai , the CEO of huduma centre secretariat for allegations of corrupt activities, while serving as Kilifi county chief finance officer,Peter Gitaa Koria, the CEO, Bomas of Kenya, with allegations of procurement irregularities in supplies of the institution.
Engineer Anthony Wamkota ,general manager of design and construction at KETRACO alleged procurement irregularities linked to construction of the Loiyangalani power project, furthermore Esther Wanjiru an accountant at KeRRA has been suspended on accounts being in possession of unexplained wealth and conflicts of interest.
The EACC has summoned the suspension of 67 police officers implicated in corruption related issues.
