Ferdinand Omanyala who is the fastest man in Africa and the Commonwealth champion is preparing to participate in the indoor season being organized on the 2nd of February in Miaramas and on the 11th of February in Paris France, he is expected to retain and improve his national record of 6.54 seconds 50 meters which he achieved last year in Lievin France.
The sixty-metre race is of importance to him in preparation for another outdoor season which will climax the Olympics in Paris.
KCB in partnership with Transcend Talent Academy and Kenya Academy of Sports will soon roll out a program to identify, train, and promote emerging talent across the country. The program will also support coaches and scouts in the identification of talents. Cabinet Secretary of Sports, Ababu Namwamba, presided over the scholarship program by the KCB foundation which will benefit 50 students in 12 counties, and the 12 counties are Baringo, Busia, Elgeiyo Marakwet, Kajiado, Kiambu, Kisii, Nakuru, Nandi, Narok, Trans- Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu and West-Pokot. The KCB Foundation has put in Ksh. 800, 000,000 to benefit and nurture students in their field of talents.
