Kasarani stadium was closed in December to undergo renovation all around, from changing rooms, lights, sitting places, and the roofing to match international standards as it is the main stadium for Kenya in AFCON 2027 which will be co-hosting with Tanzania and Uganda.

And Afraha Stadium is to be opened in March after phase one of the renovations is completed. It has been closed for almost 3 years. It will be allowed to host major tournaments like the FKF. It has been upgraded to 15000 seaters and is marketing itself to be a training ground in the upcoming 2027 AFCON games.
