City Stars have dropped in the FKF premier league standings, and are now with 34 points. City Stars were held to a barren draw by Shabana FC who are 2nd from bottom in the standings. Shabana FC faces being relegated soon if they fail to add more points in their remaining matches.
The Machakos stadium was brought to a standstill with two players, Prince Ayeko of Shabana FC and Newton Achieng of City Stars, engaged in a physical fight in the 60th minute of the game. The two players were shown red cards.
Regardless of the tension, the two coaches from both sides were content with the final results at the end of the match.
Tusker FC and Talanta FC seeing the wrath of FKF.
Tusker FC and Talanta FC faced FKF’s wrath due to failure to follow the body’s guidelines. Tusker FC has been ordered to pay a fine of approximately over ksh.2.5 million. for the failure to submit the contract of its head coach Robert Matano under the licensing body’s agreement.
A statement from the Football Federation of Kenya stated that, “Despite several reminders from the club’s licensing manager to submit the contracts, the club has failed to comply and or give an explanation as to why the said contracts has not been submitted” Talanta FC has been also ordered to pay a fine of approximately over ksh.500,000 for the failure of presenting a women’s team.
The club was licensed but penalized for the infraction and given 3 months to adhere to the FKF’s guidelines.
