Nathan Kiplagat and Robert Kiprotich are set to make Kenya proud in the Paris France Olympic games. The two Paralympians were chosen after gunning good points in the Kenya Paralympics tryouts to acquire a national team. Kenya is appealing to find tickets for the two javelin players to Paris marathons.
With the 2023 Sports Personality of the Year awards scheduled on the 23rd of February, five nominees with disabilities have been shortlisted to battle for the glorious moments both on the women’s and men’s sides.
The women Paralympian nominees are:
Asiya Sururu – Para rowing. She qualified after her dominant exploits to win the PR1 women’s single sculls at the World Rowing African Continental Olympic and Paralympic Qualification Regatta.
Nancy Chelangat Koech,- Para athlete. A visually impaired Paralympic athlete has also been nominated owing to her great form last season Kericho-based athlete flew the county’s flag high by scooping a gold medal after winning the Women’s 1,500-meter T11 race in a time of 4:46.55 at the World Para Athletics Championships.
Ruth Chemurgor – Deaf athletic to the list. Her nomination was after she threw 21.71m to break her own African and Championships hammer records, set in 2019, which stood at 20.60m at the second edition of Africa Deaf Athletics Championships held last year in Nairobi.

Titus Mwonga – Para athlet
The Kenyan bagged a silver medal after throwing 20m in the boy’s discus throw. Grenadian para-athlete Tyler Smith has captured the bronze medal with South Africa’s Daniel Tumiso Molobela won the Men’s Discus with a gold throw of 26.34m.
Kelvin Kipkogei – Deaf athlete who bagged two gold medals at the second edition of Africa Deaf Athletics Championships in Kasarani, Nairobi. He won gold in the men’s long jump and the men’s javelin.
John Njoroge – para-athlete has also been nominated thanks to his hard work that saw him being selected among the 39 athletes who will represent the country at the upcoming Paralympic Games.
Para-athlete Samson Opiyo and David Ng’ang’a Ngugi have also made the cut to the coveted list.
