Kenyans applying for free identification cards will now pay 300 shillings and if you lose your identification card you will have to pay ksh 1000 from ksh 100. For a birth certificate or death registration one will be required to pay 500 ksh from the current rate of 150 shillings.
For those planning to leave the country soon travel charges for new passports have been increased by 75% for an ordinary passport with 34 pages which was previously 4,500 shillings. New application for a Kenyan passport you will have to pay 7,500 shillings to get the document and for 50 pages passport you will be required to pay 9,500 shillings from 6,000 ksh while for a 66-page passport booklet, you will have to pay 12500 shillings from 7500 For shillings.
To replace a lost or mutilated passport you will pay 20,000 ksh from 12,000 ksh and 10,000 ksh respectively. For an express passport, it will cost you 30,000 ksh. The revised charges to gain your citizenship once you renounce will cost you 10 times more 5,000 ksh to 50,000 ksh and those applying for permanent residency for Kenyan children born outside the country and in countries that don’t allow dual citizenship one will have to pay 750.000 shillings from current 500,000 shillings.
