The leaders who spoke at Annex in Kapsireko, Uasin Gishu County, made a firm assurance to farmers that they will receive adequate fertilizer for the current planting season.
Nevertheless, it is worth noting that farmers in the region are dissatisfied with the sluggish distribution process being implemented by the NCPB.
Ndindi Nyoro, the Member of Parliament representing Kiharu, urged the government to support farmers by providing them with essential inputs and fertilizers.
He emphasized that such assistance would help in boosting agricultural productivity and promote food security in the region. Moreover, the government has introduced funds to support tea farmers, cotton farmers, coffee farmers, and sunflower farmers in the country.
These funds aim to encourage the growth of edible oils from sunflower and other cash crops within the nation and ensure that farmers have access to the resources they need to thrive.
On the other hand member of parliament Oscar Sudi stated that every farmer will receive subsidized fertilizer in regards to what they own. In addition, he stated that they will catch up with the cartels who take advantage of the farmers.
