Interior cabinet secretary Kithure Kindiki says the government is winding up the fight against illicit brews, following the incident where several people died after consuming brews, now Kindiki says any new license issued by county governments which has not met the required standards will be revoked.
Kindiki says that as the national government they have all the mandate to withdraw all the illegal licenses from business men even after being issued by the devolved government.
The Cs says the government will continue put more effort to fight against all the distributors of illicit brews and manufacturers urging security agencies to be countable for their roles.
Several shops and chemists have been closed down due non compliance, Kindiki was speaking during a lake tour of Kisii, Homabay, Migori, Nyamira Kericho and Nyamira counties.
