20 people from Chegilet village in Keiyo North Constituency in Elgeyo Marakwet county have been admitted to the referral Hospital in Item while others are receiving treatment and allowed to go back at their home places after drinking contaminated milk which they bought from a shop in the village.
Confirming the incident, Minister who is in charge of the health department in the Elgeyo Marakwet county Government Michael Kibiwot, said that the condition of the people is not bad as they have sent samples to be examined and evaluated.
Michael Kibiwot explained that the victims included 13 who are children, 18 are men and 7 are women.
Afterwards, the Minister pointed out that 40 people went to the hospital because they were suffering from diarrhoea where he asked residents to be careful when buying products in shops.
