Kylian Mbappe, the attacker for Paris St. Germain, took the blame for the team’s 1-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, which caused them to lose 2-0 overall in the Champions League semi finals.
Mbappe squandered two excellent opportunities in the second leg at the Parc des Princes. Mbappe is expected to depart PSG in the summer, with Real Madrid being his likely destination.
“I tried to help my team as best as I could but I didn’t do enough,” Mbappe stated.
“I should be the one to score goals and make decisions. I always take center stage when things are going well, and you have to take the back seat when they aren’t.”That poses no issue. I was the first person who was supposed to score tonight. That’s life, and my team and I must move on.”
With the majority of the ball, PSG was able to take four times as many shots as their opponents, hitting the woodwork four times.
“In decisive Champions League matches, when you’re not effective in both boxes, it’s difficult to get through to the next round,” Mbappe stated. “Even more so when we’re talking about a final.”While we’re obviously disappointed, as I mentioned, all is not lost. We must build on that and persevere since I have no doubt that we will succeed.”
PSG has already won Ligue 1, but they still have the French Cup to win. On May 25, they will play Olympique Lyonnais in the final.
