President Ruto’s personal assistant Farouk Kibet has revealed that president William Ruto will only increase taxes on alcohol and not bread accusing those he tamed are spreading propaganda that the head of state had proposed to increase tax on bread.
The national Treasury was considering to introduce 16% vat on bread and milk in fresh push to boost revenue allocation.
These proposals angered a section of leaders from both government side and opposition who said the vat on bread could make Kenyans who depend on it undergo hard economic time.
All the products considered to be necessary were under zero rated items including foodstuffs, sanitary products and animal feeds
Most of kenyans have expressed their views that if this happens Kenyans will witness a rise in the cost of the two commodities.
“We want to ask president William Ruto to put more efforts in fighting against corruption so that all the tax the government collects be responsible to cater for the nation’s development “
