Laura Cathy Otieno, an 18-year-old girl, went missing in Majengo shortly after completing her studies at Mudavadi Girls High School. She had plans to collect her ID card from Kisumu, obtain school clearance, and then head back to Nairobi to enroll at Kenyatta University.
Laura had been invited back to her former school for a weekend event, adding to the excitement of her upcoming journey to Nairobi for university. However, her plans took an unexpected turn when a motorcycle rider dropped her off in Majengo, where she vanished after boarding a matatu bound for Kisumu.
Concern grew when Laura failed to reach her destination, prompting her family to raise the alarm. Her disappearance gained widespread attention after being publicized in the media, with her parents desperately seeking information on her whereabouts.
Thankfully, Laura reappeared after her disappearance was publicized. However, her condition was concerning; she appeared confused and disheveled. Her mother, Linda Jackline Oyugi, revealed that Laura had been drugged, leading to further distress for her family.
