For the last two weeks public health and professional standards ps Mary Muthoni has been traversing the country targeting counties that have been greatly affected by malaria in a renewed campaign in which the government is seeking to eradicate the disease by 2030.
On Saturday ps Mary Muthoni spent the better part of the day distributing nets in Busia county. One heavily affected by the spread of malaria.
In the plan the ministry aims at distributing 15 million treated nets to 22 counties in affected areas and so far 14 counties have benefited from this plan. Busia is one of the hardest heat counties considering that it is among counties next to water bodies.
The collaboration between the national and county governments seeks to lower the prevalence of the disease as the country aims to eradicate it by 2030.
Other counties targeted in in the campaign include: Homa bay, Nyamira, kisiri,Kisumu, Migori siaya and Mombasa.
