Senior officials working in the office of deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, have been grilled by serious crimes unit officers, over the alleged links to the sponsoring of goons during the Gen z protests, it has emerged that some of the members of Parliament have been lined up for questioning over financing the protests.
The three government officials include political advisor and youth advisor have been investigated, at the deputy president’s Karen office in Nairobi, the officers recorded statements from Gachagua’s official resident, as part of the investigation on who has been funding the ongoing demonstrations.
Among those to be investigated are two members of Parliament who have been alleged to sponsor protests both directly and indirectly, also one former governor has said to be targeted as the suspect who sponsored the inversion to Parliament and required to record the statement with the serious crimes unit officers.
Up to now there is no any formal evidence that the suspected leaders could have funded the protests,in other side a report has been released that may lead to the impeachment of deputy president Rigathi Gachagua,where nyeri governor mutahi kahiga taming the report as a political weapon against Gachagua.
Gachagua has been accused of several allegations including holding president hostage, opposing finance bill 2024,inciting his nature against taxation, he has been also accused of him inciting coffee and tea Farmers against the executive among others.
