In a brazen and steadfast speech at Mayuba Stadium, Sirisia MP John Waluke stood firm in the defense of the Social Health Agreement (SHA) despite the criticism, and insisted that the new health system is already bearing fruit. This was during the Bursary Award program launch, an endeavor to cater for poor local students.
Waluke’s unwavering endorsement of the SHA also registers as a demand for all Kenyans to embrace the new health system, citing its ability to revolutionize healthcare access and efficiency. We must get behind initiatives that prioritize our people’s health, he contended, asking citizens to rally behind the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Moving past healthcare, Waluke also commented on his support for the leasing out of Nzoia Sugar Company, seeing huge benefits coming to local farmers. Having a new investor enter our sugar industry will not just boost production but also see the company acquire a new mill to the factory, where farmers will be in a position to harvest returns more efficiently, Waluke explained.
In a bid to foster regional unity, Waluke, who also heads the Western Caucus of MPs, urged the Luhya community to unite as one force. A united front will empower us to strategically plan for our future leadership, he stressed, underlining the importance of collective action in driving progress.
Secondly, Waluke favored the idea of rotational presidency, arguing it would usher in a period of inclusivity and representation in Kenyan politics. The time to make our leadership diversified and allow all Kenyan communities to have a voice was now, he asserted.
While debates continue to revolve around these very important issues, MP Waluke’s unrelenting stance is a true reflection of his dedication to communities’ welfare and national unity, underscoring the significance of grassroots pressure in shaping the future of Kenya. By refusing to yield towards extremism and elitism, Waluke stands as the symbol of hope for a brighter future for every Kenyan.
