The hosting team, Ivory Coast was forced to sweat on qualification after finishing third in the group. The four best third-placed sides across the six groups progress to the last 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Nigeria progressed safely to the knockout stages of the Africa Cup of Nations after beating Guinea-Bissau 1-0 in Abidjan. The only goal of the game came in the 36th minute, as Opa Sangante diverted into his net after trying to prevent the ball from reaching prolific Super Eagles frontman Victor Osimhen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ghana led 2-0 thanks to a brace from Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew but two stoppage-time goals from Mozambique’s Geny Catamo and Reinaldo Mandava secured a last-gasp comeback and left Ghana facing almost certain elimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite dominating the first half, Egypt went behind to a clinical finish from Gilson Tavares just before the break. The half-time substitute Trezeguet equalized almost immediately with a beautifully worked goal, and Egypt pushed for the winner that would guarantee a place in the knockout stages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
