Unique\u00a0challenges\u00a0and advantages that private and public schools face at Mt.Kenya were unravelled. This sheds light on their academic journey and also their future prospects.<\/p>\n\n\n

The government\u00a0 through\u00a0 the\u00a0 ministry\u00a0 of\u00a0 education, rolled\u00a0 out\u00a0 the\u00a0 junior secondary\u00a0 school\u00a0 countrywide\u00a0 two\u00a0 years\u00a0 ago. In\u00a0 a bid\u00a0 to\u00a0 realise\u00a0 a competence\u00a0 best\u00a0 curriculum\u00a0 has\u00a0 so\u00a0 far\u00a0 had\u00a0 its\u00a0 challenges\u00a0 like\u00a0employment and\u00a0 deployment\u00a0 of\u00a0 teachers\u00a0 in\u00a0 junior\u00a0 secondary\u00a0 school.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While\u00a0 public\u00a0 school\u00a0 \u00a0struggles\u00a0 with\u00a0 full\u00a0 realisation\u00a0 of\u00a0 fees. Things\u00a0 seems\u00a0 to\u00a0 be\u00a0 flowing\u00a0 swiftly\u00a0 in\u00a0 \u00a0private schools. At\u00a0 Gakanga\u00a0 primary\u00a0 in\u00a0 junior\u00a0 secondary, there\u00a0 are\u00a0 two\u00a0 streams\u00a0 for\u00a0 grade 7 and 8 but\u00a0 only\u00a0 3\u00a0 teachers. This\u00a0 makes\u00a0 it\u00a0 difficult\u00a0 to\u00a0 execute\u00a0 their\u00a0 mandate. A teacher\u00a0 is\u00a0 only\u00a0 supposed\u00a0 to\u00a0 teach\u00a0 two\u00a0 subjects. In\u00a0 some\u00a0 some\u00a0 instances\u00a0 teachers teaches\u00a0 subjects\u00a0 that\u00a0 they\u00a0 have\u00a0 not\u00a0 trained\u00a0 for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On\u00a0the\u00a0contrary\u00a0 to\u00a0 that, Nyeri\u00a0 Good\u00a0 Shepherd\u00a0 academy\u00a0 shows\u00a0 a different\u00a0 picture. The\u00a0 school\u00a0 has\u00a0 all\u00a0 the\u00a0 structures\u00a0 needed\u00a0 for learning\u00a0in JSS, adequate\u00a0 teachers\u00a0 and\u00a0 also\u00a0 enough\u00a0 resources\u00a0 that\u00a0 facilitates\u00a0 learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0 stakeholders\u00a0 are\u00a0 still\u00a0 pushing\u00a0 the\u00a0 government\u00a0 to\u00a0 deal\u00a0 with\u00a0 \u00a0the challenges\u00a0 that\u00a0 have\u00a0 been\u00a0 raised\u00a0 including; employing all JSS teachers on permanent and pensionable\u00a0terms.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
