{"id":242,"date":"2023-07-19T06:53:20","date_gmt":"2023-07-19T06:53:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tandaomedia.co.ke\/?p=242"},"modified":"2023-07-19T06:53:20","modified_gmt":"2023-07-19T06:53:20","slug":"tharaka-nithi-gubernatorial-aspirant-found-dead-in-his-car","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tandaomedia.co.ke\/index.php\/2023\/07\/19\/tharaka-nithi-gubernatorial-aspirant-found-dead-in-his-car\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Tharaka Nithi gubernatorial aspirant found dead in his car"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Police&nbsp;in Embu County have launched investigations into the mysterious death of former Tharaka Nithi gubernatorial aspirant Gitare Mbiuki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports indicate that Mbiuki was found dead in his car parked on the roadside at Kanyuambora area, more than 50 Kilometres from his Weru home in Tharaka Nithi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is suspected to have committed suicide on Monday afternoon in unclear circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Confirming the incident, Mbeere North Police Commander Eric Yego, said the politician&#8217;s family had confirmed that the deceased was a licenced gun holder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the family, the deceased left his home on Monday at around 3pm without any problem. Their efforts to reach hm via phone proved futile 3 hours later.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"715\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/tandaomedia.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/5de4277d82af0c67-1-1-1.webp\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" style=\"object-fit:cover;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tandaomedia.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/5de4277d82af0c67-1-1-1.webp 715w, https:\/\/tandaomedia.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/5de4277d82af0c67-1-1-1-300x198.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 715px) 100vw, 715px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>The family spokesperson, Mr. Yego said, they were then forced to make a report at a police station in Tharaka Nithi before embarking on a search for their kin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The police boss said locals confirmed to have seen the vehicle parked at the scene but they did not suspect anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preliminary investigations indicate that Mbiuki succumbed to a gunshot wound on his head. The bullet entered below the right ear and exited slightly above the left eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They recovered Forjas Taurus pistol with eight rounds of ammunition in the car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the authorities, the gun was found on the deceased&#8217;s chest, above his left hand.
