Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi has said that the government has launched investigations into the alleged fake fertiliser that was distributed recently to farmers in different parts of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n

Speaking during a stakeholders’ engagement on Edible Oil Crop Promotion in Naivasha town, Nakuru County on Saturday, Linturi stated that investigations into the alleged fake fertiliser scandal have commenced, warning of tough action against the masterminds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf anybody is trying to mislead or to get anything that dissembles fertilizer in the market, then that person will be dealt with within the provisions of the law,\u201d the CS warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the incident has attracted fury from a section of farmers who have called for the resignation of the CS over the scandal. However, Linturi was quick to dismiss the said complaints from farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CS faces trial on his involvement in the supply of fake fertilizer. His accuser Jack Wamboka, MP, Bumula stated he has nothing personal as claimed. He requested the select committee to enlist the principal secretaries to the ministry of agriculture and the C.E.O Chemicals Limited in connection to 8 other witnesses to testify against the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muthomi Thiankolu, Linturi\u2019s Council, states that Linturi will be the sole defense against his accuser to bring forward all witness statements before the hearing commences before the select committee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
