The livestock sector has played a crucial role in promoting inclusivity and prosperity for many individuals in Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0Approximately 45 billion shillings has been allocated for the drilling of boreholes in Isiolo and the expansion of Isiolo International Airport to facilitate meat exports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/tandaomedia.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tandaomedia.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-5.png 800w, https:\/\/tandaomedia.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-5-300x188.png 300w, https:\/\/tandaomedia.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-5-768x480.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;To further support this industry, Kenya is making significant investments in infrastructure development in the North, creating opportunities for pastoralists to engage in the commercial livestock industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mithika Linturi, the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock, emphasized the importance of drilling boreholes in Isiolo. This initiative will enable residents to effectively care for their livestock and access better market opportunities for their products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Linturi also highlighted the need for expanding the Isiolo International Airport, as it holds great potential for exporting meat products. He encouraged residents to venture into livestock farming, assuring them of a profitable market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent years, the total earnings from livestock exports have shown a positive trend.
