Speaker Anne Kiusya didn’t hold back in her scathing remarks, calling the events of April 8, 2025, shocking, shameful, and atrocious, and vowing that such acts of gross misconduct cannot go unpunished.The nine suspended legislators, including the likes of Nicholas Kitavi Nzioka and Stephen Nzue Mwanthi, have been slapped with an eight-day suspension and directed to foot the bill for damages caused to Assembly property during the mayhem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evidence gathered by the House paints a grim picture of broken chairs, tables, doors, and even security systems, all pointing to the anarchy unleashed by the perpetrators.The suspension comes after months of chaos in the Machakos Assembly, where deep political rifts have paralyzed proceedings, leading to a three-month hiatus in full sittings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
