Over 2,000 widows from various parts of Bungoma County gathered today at the Holygate of Heaven Bungoma church to launch the Bungoma Widows Empowerment Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event aims to provide these widows with opportunities to collaborate and support each other in various aspects, including during bereavement, business, and other challenges.Speaking after the event, the Chairperson of the widows’ group in the Bungoma county, Pastor Christine Egesa, shared that the group was formed to raise awareness among widows about the importance of unity, emphasizing that it is crucial for these women to have a support system to help mitigate the challenges they face.\u201cFor a long time, many widows have struggled with family issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this group, we hope that widows will receive financial assistance, support during funerals, pay for their children’s school fees, build houses, and access business loans,\u201d Pastor Egesa explained.She also urged all widows in Bungoma County to set aside fear and complacency and instead come together to achieve their development goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is time to learn and build strength together; we must overcome the misconception that our money will be taken by fraudsters,\u201d she added.Apostle Alex Lwamba from Holygate of Heaven, Bungoma, praised Pastor Egesa for her initiative in bringing together the widows, calling on other widows to join their peers to build better lives. \u201cIt is essential for every widow to have a voice and a platform to connect with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a group of hope and support,\u201d he stated.Additionally, Apostle Lwamba called upon various donors to step forward and provide the necessary support to these widows, emphasizing the importance of uplifting their lives and the community as a whole.Rose Songa, one of the widows who joined the group, expressed her joy regarding the response to the event, stating that through this group, she would have the opportunity to improve her life. \u201cI believe that through this unity, we will find many ways to support each other and improve our situations,\u201d Rose remarked.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
