Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa and his deputy Ayub Savula have announced plans to form a political coalition between the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) as they prepare for re-election in the 2027 General Election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two leaders made the declaration during a public engagement on the county\u2019s roads improvement program in Shinyalu. Governor Barasa said he will represent ODM in the coalition while his deputy will run under the UDA banner. They expressed confidence that the partnership will consolidate their political base and secure them a second term in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the duo, the coalition is designed to unite supporters from both parties in Kakamega County. They described the move as strategic, aimed at fostering political stability and ensuring continuity of development projects. Barasa and Savula further noted that their team will collaborate with UDA to bolster President William Ruto\u2019s support in the region during the 2027 presidential race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
