Residents in western Kenya have expressed mixed reactions following comments by President William Ruto during his visit to the region about plans to improve the sugar industry.<\/kbd><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President assured sugarcane farmers that his government would strengthen the sector, including providing bonuses and ensuring payments are made within seven days after crop sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some residents have welcomed the initiative, expressing confidence that the promises could bring positive changes to the sugar industry if given enough time to be implemented.Other residents remain skeptical, noting that similar pledges in the past were not fully realized. They have called on the Agriculture Ministry to address these concerns and ensure accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
