Efforts to combat rising cases of drug and substance abuse among young people in Shinyalu Constituency have gained momentum with the launch of a community football tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shinyalu Member of Parliament Fred Ikana, working in partnership with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Shinyalu branch, unveiled the initiative at Mukhonje Primary School grounds in Isukha West Ward. The tournament is designed to nurture sporting talent while raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and illicit alcohol consumption.<\/kbd><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the launch, Ikana emphasized that safeguarding youth from harmful substances is a collective responsibility. He noted that sports can play a vital role in offering young people positive alternatives and opportunities for growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali, who joined Ikana at the event, urged participants to embrace discipline, stressing that it is essential for success both on and off the pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the tournament, the two leaders highlighted ongoing development projects in collaboration with the national government.
