Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has intensified calls for voter registration, urging residents across the county to take part in the ongoing exercise by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ahead of the next General Election.<\/kbd><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing a gathering in Matungu Sub-County, Governor Barasa emphasized the critical role of young people in shaping Kenya\u2019s democratic future. He noted that many youths have recently attained voting age and should seize the opportunity to register, stressing that civic participation is not only a right but also a responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barasa further highlighted the importance of acquiring national identity cards, which serve as the gateway to obtaining voter cards. He encouraged those yet to apply for IDs to do so without delay, warning that failure to register could mean exclusion from the electoral process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
