President William Ruto has highly commended Nairobi residents, youth, and business owners for keeping off the streets during the recent Gen-Z memorial protests. Speaking on Monday, the Head of State expressed his profound gratitude to the public for choosing peace and actively refusing to take part in political demonstrations that could destabilize the nation\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President made these remarks during the high-profile commissioning of the new KSh 3.8 billion Ngong Road\u2013Naivasha Road flyover in Nairobi. The event, which drew several high-ranking government officials, quickly became a platform for the Head of State to address the country’s delicate political climate and outline his administration’s massive infrastructure goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his address, President Ruto heavily criticized opposition leaders, accusing them of trying to incite vulnerable youth into violent protests and economic sabotage. He argued that the political figures calling for the street demonstrations are entirely detached from the day-to-day realities of ordinary Kenyans trying to earn a living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a sharp jab directed at his political rivals, Ruto claimed that the orchestrators of the protests have contributed nothing meaningful to the nation for decades. President Ruto announced that his administration is aggressively rolling out an Intelligent Transport System designed to completely revolutionize traffic flow within Nairobi County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this grand modernization plan, the President revealed that the highly anticipated Upper Hill\u2013Kenyatta Avenue viaduct is already 60 percent complete. He added that a KSh 1.6 billion upgrade of State House Road is also underway, assuring motorists that these key links will drastically eliminate gridlock for those commuting to the Central Business District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, who accompanied the President to the launch, highly praised the seamless synergy between the county and the national government. Sakaja stated that this direct cooperation has successfully bypassed the tribal and divisive politics that have historically crippled development in the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Sakaja further revealed that the national government had recently allocated an additional KSh 2 billion to the county specifically for drainage infrastructure.
