Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has strongly condemned the violence that erupted in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD), expressing deep outrage over what he described as the brutal assault on innocent civilians.
Speaking passionately in response to the events, Owino stated, “These actions are not only senseless but reveal a staggering level of ignorance. They are a direct assault on our national values of peace, dignity, and justice.”
In a video obtained by TMG, the legislator disclosed that one civilian was reportedly killed during the chaos. He connected this incident to the recent murder of prominent Kenyan teacher and blogger Albert Ojwang, calling for accountability and swift justice. _“Only days after Albert Ojwang was murdered, more lives are being taken—and we cannot remain silent as blood continues to be shed,”_ he said.
Owino also took aim at Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, criticizing his leadership and response to the crisis.“Governor Sakaja should know that the use of force does not demonstrate power,it exposes fear, weakness, and a blatant disregard for the rule of law,”Owino asserted.
