Government revoked 7 TH November gazette notice on fees changes, where the levies and other fees of critical documents such as ID’S passports, birth certificates and marriage certificates among others were to be increased as the court was to mention the matter to confirm compliance over the key charges.
Interior Cs professor Kithure Kindiki yesterday revoked the changes, relating the upward revision of charges on services as the fresh charges for the citizenship Kenyan Children born out of kenya have reduced from 1000000 To 750000 KSH , Charges for 66 pages that was raised upto 12500 From 7500 KSH Remains the same, Fifty page passport to cost 9500 KSH from 6000. Replacement of lost passport to cost 20000 KSH From 12000KSH also remains the same .Registration of ID card that was initially done at a cost of 1000KSH is now at 300KSH While ID replacement that went up to 2000 From 100 is now going for 1000 KSH ,Birth certificates remains at 50KSH and death certificates also remains at 50KSH.
Kindiki stated that new charges are to take effect on the first january 2024 As the state department for immigration and citizens services has been directed to conduct a complete public participation as soon as possible
