Agriculture cabinet secretary Mithika Linturi launched the distribution of 100 maize dryers to the farmers in so as to enable them dry and store their grains well in a bid to curb food insecurity and increase food supply during this rainy season.
The Cs said that that they have equipped NCPB with enough money that will enable them to purchase maize from the farmers where this money will help the farmers to afford other needs.
On the other side he assured the farmers that it is not restricted to sell the maize directly to the NCPB but they can sell it to private sectors and any open market although, they have to be careful with the cartels as they may end up not well or fully paid.
