Speaking during the launch of the race, patron Farouk Kibet urged participants to participate a tough course in the higher altitude Chepsaita region.
Sports CS Ababu Namwamba,Uasin Gishu county Governor Jonathan Bii and sports PS Peter Thum were present at the launch.CS Ababu said he had hopes Kenya will help slay the doping menace in the athletics sector.Margaret Chelimo is also an elite participant.
The Kenya Defence Forces are the winners of the 2023 Taekwondo held at the Moi-Air Base Gymnasium in Nairobi.KDF emerged victorious in both the men and women competitions.They had a total of 15 gold medals.The National Youth Service came second in both gender.
KDF had 2 silver and 4 bronze medals for the men while GSU completed the top 3.Other participants in the Taekwondo matches were the National Police Service,Administrative Police and the Kenya Prisons.
The finals of the Talanta Hela play offs were abandoned in Nyeri County as heavy rains rendered the Moi-Nyeri pitch unplayable.The match between Busia and Homabay was called off in the 50th minute after it became waterlogged.
Despite the finals being cancelled,the objective was already achieved as the tournament was held to select four teams in both boys and girls category.
Busia, Homabay, Uasin Gishu and Machakos Counties reached the semis and qualified for the national finals.
Uasin Gishu, Homabay,Kirinyaga and Nakuru counties reached the semi finals.National finals will involve 16 counties on the 12th December.
