Data from a statistical organization in the country has shown that the level of unemployment in the country has gone down significantly, from a staggering 5.6% to 4.9% between the months of october and december 2022, compared with the same period , in 2021.
In its current report named ‘survey report to assert the level of skill required, the federation of employers in the country has said that, in the communication and technology sector,transport, and law require that 43.8% of first time job seekers should have a bachelor’s degree, while the requirement is held by 34.9% by technical vocational institutions.
Furthermore, holders of KCSE certificates,are on high demands in the sectors of public security by 4.8% and in the entertainment and recreational industry by 3.1%
Moreover 42% of employers find it difficult to replace the gaps left by retiring employees due to lack of employees with the required skills, despite those having PhD’s not put into consideration in job employment opportunities.
