According to government’s statistics, the number of those affected by the floods in various part of the country within the last 24hrs has risen by 3324, bringing the total of those affected to 93432 country wide.
Government spokes person Isaac Mwaura who issued an update on behalf of the national elnino emergency committee, more aid has been availed to those affected most of whom are from northern parts of the country
on the dam situation in the country, the country, the governments has portrayed fears of them breaking their banks, but issued a precaution to Kenyans residing around dams, especially Kiambere dam as well as river lambwe in Homabay County, where it broke its banks on Sunday night besides that, the elnino rains have not only destroyed people’s properties but also infrastructures.
Meanwhile, leaders from Nyanza religion have questioned the government over its approach in dealing with the floods in the region especially homabay County led by Perter Kaluma, the Mps want the government to increase the aid in the Region.
Besides that,counties such as Wajir, Garissa,Mandera,Tana river, Tharakanithi, isiolo, kwale,homabay,Makueni, Lamu,Taita taveta, Meru and Kisumu,have also been affected by floods
