Muhoroni sub-county police station commander Joshua Nyasimi,said that over ten remandeese held at Kuru police stations. Nine overpowered a police constable and made a way.
The ten have been brought in from Kodiaga prison remande and had been presented before Tamu law Court on Wednesday. However, as they awaited their transfer, one of them requested to use the washroom.
Police expended 9 rounds of animation in the air as the remandeese made their way into the sugarcane plantation.
Those who are still at large include Dennis Ouma Ochieng who was facing the attempted robbery with violence, Wicklyfee Odhiambo who was facing a case of offense of robbery with violence, Collins Omondi and Boru Otieno who were facing the offense of stealing.
Peter Otieno and Charles Ochieng who were remanded for the offense of assault and Gideon Rotich who was remanded for threatening his aged parents.
Two other remandees identified as Erick Ochieng and Mike Angel Ochieng were rearrested on Wednesday and are assisting police with investigations.
