Nigeria had a good game in the first half with their defender, Wiliam Troost Ekong openingย the score with a header in the 38th minute of the match. During the second half, the Hosts had a strong comeback to equalize the match in the 62nd minute.
Frank Kessie did the fantastic equalizer. Ten minutes towards the elapsing time, Ivory Coast struck ahead the winning goal with the glory going to Sebastian Haller. Nigeria tried their best to send the game in the extra time but the drama had already been seen in the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Even though the Super Eagles came 2nd in the tournament, Victor Osimhen came out as the best player throughout the competition. The game ended with a 2-1 victory to the Elephants.
