Kenya is set to host the water and Investor conference on sanitation, which seeks to draw investors in order to close the 0.37 financing gap.

According to the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Kenya needs to allocate an additional 0.42 billion Shillings and 365 billion Shillings beyond the current budgetary allocation of 0.48 for urban water supplies and 0.50 for sanitation services respectively.

The government further says it expects to complete the construction of the 100 dams in the next 5years with 56 sites established across the country where almost 33 investors have tabled offers to construct the dam.
Through water funds government notes it has been able to mobilize over 40 billion shilling to finance water projects because the government seeks to increase the revenue mobilisation to over billions in medium terms.
