After a two-day athletic trial at Nyayo stadium to choose a national athletic team to be sent to Accra Ghana for the All Africa games.
Athlete Kenya is placing faith in the able team to snatch medals against 52 countries. The All Africa Games will act as a window for qualification to the Paris Olympics 2024.
The selected squad by Athlete Kenya will be led by Commonwealth 800 m champion, Mary Moraa, sprinter Esther Mbagari, Abel Kipsang, and Kipng’etich Ngeno. In the women’s 100 m race, Mbagari will be joined by Eunice Kadogo, and in the men’s slot, Hesbond Ochieng will be accompanied by Steve Odhiambo Onyango who came second in the trials.
In the women’s 400m hurdles, Venice Kerubo is expected to impress after bouncing back from her maternity leave and she will be joined by Rahab Wanjiru. While in the men’s race will see Kipkrorir Rotich and Nicholas Kiplimo battling it out.
