Flooding has left numerous families missing, including police constable David Chesire, who saved a trapped family from being swept by water. Police have reported that the individual’s AK47 rifle, which was loaded with 30 bullets is also missing.
Kenya Red Cross said approximately 1,200 households have been identified as affected in various informal settlements with Mukuru Kwa Njenga and Mukuru Kwa Reuben being among the worst hit. Some 52 households in Kayole were evacuated to safety after their homes were submerged by floodwaters.
