Defending champions, Manchester City put up a better display at Etihad Stadium by defeating Aston Villa 4-1. The match was fascinating with Rodri scoring an opener in the 11th minute but was later equalised by John Duran’s goal.
The game seemed to go either way but Phil Foden who turned out to be the man of the match, took the city ahead in the 45th minute. During the second half, Foden secured a deserved hattrick which is his second hattrick this season denying Aston Villa a chance to fight for a top spot in the league.
Arsenal drove to a 2-0 victory at Emirates Stadium as they were playing against Luton Town who are currently in the 18th position in the standings. Odegard’s 24th goal and Hashioka’s own goal in the 44th minute have pushed the Gunners to the top of the table with 3 points and now they are holding 68 points.
The top 3 in the league are being separated with only one point each and tonight Liverpool will be facing Sheffield United.
