Experts living in Kenya find that public healthcare programmes and facilities tend to be understaffed, poorly equipped and lacking supplies. It is claimed that the best public healthcare facilities are offered in the Central province and Nairobi whereas the North- Eastern province is the most under developed.
Residents in Bungoma county have raised an alarm to the national government and the county government concerning the poor services in the hospitals.
They complained about inadequate medical equipment and shortage of medical personnel in the hospitals that has brought the negative impact to the western health sector.
They claimed that the central province and Nairobi county are receiving the best health care whereas areas in the western region receive inadequate supply and have lacked skilled labour leading to the poor services offered in the region.
They urge the National government in collaboration with the County government to ensure equal distribution of health resources and personnel to boost the current health status in the region. They call into CS of health
