It was on Tuesday night around 1 a.m. at Olmeut Village, CCTV footage captured a lioness standing outside a homestead on Pasha Drive. It later jumped over the wall, peered inside the compound, and after spotting its prey, jumped inside. About 20 seconds later, it emerged carrying a dog’s carcass in its mouth, slowly moving in a particular direction before changing its route.
The whole incident unfolded within two minutes or less. Residents say that over the past week, there have been attacks at different homes, with the lioness identifying an undeveloped plot in the area as its feasting spot. The carcasses indicate that a lioness is on a mission in the area.

Residents of Olmeut Village report that at least six dogs have been killed by this lioness within a span of a week, posing security threats to the neighborhood. KWS officials, have confirmed the presence of wildlife in Rongai and Kitengela areas due to flooding in the park, and they have urge residents to be cautious and report any sightings to authorities.
Kenya Wildlife Service officials have confirmed the incident and stated that a team has been deployed to track down the lioness, identified as McKenna. A special team from the Problematic Animal Management Unit has also joined the rangers to track and relocate the lioness once it is found.
