On Tuesday afternoon, a tragic accident on Londiani-Muhoroni Road resulted in the deaths of at least 10 people and left three others critically injured. The crash occurred in Pangala, Kisumu Ndogo, involving a matatu and a trailer.
The trailer, driven by a man heading towards Londiani, lost control and veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with the matatu traveling to Kisumu. The collision was catastrophic, causing numerous fatalities and severe injuries.
Many victims were parents taking their children back to school, compounding the community’s grief.
Assistant Chief Gregory Kemei from Chebwai confirmed that authorities are searching for the trailer driver, who fled the scene. The search for the driver continues as the community demands justice for those lost.
The deceased have been taken to the St. Vincent Mission Hospital mortuary in Muhoroni. Their bodies await identification by mourning family members.
