The Bungoma county health department has launched an emergency care department at the county’s referral hospital to handle emergency cases.
Speaking at the launch of the project,Dr. Simon Kisaka, the Chief Medical Officer at Bungoma Referral Hospital, and Caleb Watta, the County Health Director shared that nine million shillings were invested in renovating the building, outfitting it with advanced emergency care equipment, and training healthcare staff to serve emergency patients.
According to Bungoma County Health Minister Caroline Khalayi Makali, having this Emergency Care Department at Bungoma Referral Hospital will be a relief for critical patients with emergency conditions.
Speaking to the press after the official launch, Minister Makali said that the county government will continue collaborating with various donors to improve healthcare services for residents.
Donors from the Rotary organization and the Emergency Medicine Foundation have assured the Bungoma Health Department of their continued partnership in strengthening the healthcare sector.
