President William Ruto addressed concerns raised by some citizens regarding the performance of the Kenya Kwanza government.
While presiding over a graduation ceremony for forestry officers in Gilgili, Nakuru County, Ruto urged citizens to disregard false reports, asserting that the nation is on a positive trajectory and that the economy has strengthened during his two years in office.
However, public reactions to the president’s comments were mixed. Some supported his assertions, noting a decrease in the prices of essential goods that had previously surged.
Others indicated that various reports about the government’s performance are driven by tensions between the president and his ousted deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, urging them to reconcile their differences in order to effectively serve the public.
Additionally, during a Sunday service at an Anglican church in Kiambu County, the ousted deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua, claimed that Kenyans are enduring significant hardships due to declining healthcare services, an economic downturn, and high taxation.
