The Ministry of Information, Communications & The Digital Economy has reason to celebrate following an exemplary financial audit of its State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications.
In its latest report, the Office of the Auditor General gave the Department a clean bill of health, affirming that its financial statements as of 30th June 2024 present fairly, in all material respects, its financial position, performance, and cash flows for the year. The audit was conducted in accordance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (Cash Basis) and confirmed full compliance with the Public Finance Management Act of 2012.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in Kenya’s ongoing efforts to enhance financial transparency and public accountability. Principal Secretary Steve Isaboke, EBS, lauded the Department for its diligence and praised its commitment to fiscal responsibility, noting the absence of any adverse audit findings.“This clean audit reflects the tireless work of our teams and underscores the integrity with which we manage public resources,” said PS Isaboke. “It’s a testament to our dedication to delivering value to Kenyan citizens.”
The announcement has been met with applause from government stakeholders and civil society, positioning the Department as a model for good governance and responsible public finance practices.
